Over the last week or so I've been playing with Asterisk, the open source PBX. I've always been compelled to check out Asterisk but without a sip phone and already using skype there wasn't much point. However, since I picked up a Nokia E61 I now own a sip compliant handset. The dream of seamless integration between cellular, home and office phones from one handset became within reach. I've gotten it working at the office and at home but haven't yet figured out how to connect my skype to it as a outbound trunk. Although not totally perfect, the combination comes very, very close to truly ubiquitous voice communications.
